自我介绍
As far as I am concerned, photography is an art, the art of painting with light. Portrait photography is also the art of dealing with people and that is something I really enjoy doing. Oddly enough, I do not consider myself an artist since I certainly do not fit the profile; I consider my work to be more technical than artistic.
I've always been passionate about photography and I picked it up a bit more seriously in 1990. At the time, I was shooting with a telemetric Petri 35mm camera that was, unfortunately, stolen from me. In 1998, I became much more serious about my photography and worked mostly on landscapes. In 2003, I fell in love with portrait photography and I have been at it ever since. I also picked up my first digital camera that year. In Fall 2006, I picked up a medium format camera and moved back to film. While I still shoot digital, my personal projects are all shot with film. Please also note that most of the work that you are reviewing through my website or my profile is film.
Should you be interested in working with me or if you'd like to request a quote, please feel free to contact me. Keep your inquiries serious and be specific about what your needs are if you are requesting a quote. I am accepting very little TFP, if any.
What is TFP: Time For Print. It means that the team decides to work together for portfolio development without exchange of money. It does not mean that you're doing the photographer a favor by working for free. If TFP is agreed upon, expect 2-3 retouched 9x12 pictures in digital or print format. Any extra retouched work will have to be paid for. No CD with unretouched pictures will be provided. And no, you will not share copyright.
Non-TFP work: In this case, you're the customer and you're paying. You provide me with your requirements and I submit a quote. Copyright sharing, retouching, everything has its price.
Paying models: It is a misconception that photographers pay models. They do not! The customer hires the photographer, the model and the whole team. Everyone gets paid according to the contract. Many models accept to work TFP for tearsheets. In other words, what you're doing here is working for free for a customer who can pay (magazine) just to get a publication.
Spoken Languages: French and English
Friend requests: I've been getting a lot of friend requests on MM. Please note that being listed as a friend means that I know you, that we have worked together or that we are planning to. If you do not drop me a message at least introducing yourself, your friend request will be denied! Being friends is more than just clicking: send friend request.
