Cassandra Taglione

I know that because of my height I can never be accepted into the modeling world as it is currently. I would like to be able to change this, but I know that I can't, the fashion world can not handle such radical changes; they can't even handle healthy-looking models. Hence, I have a love-hate relationship with the world of fashion.
I love clothing, and I read Vogue and Teen Vogue almost every month, and British Vogue when I can get my hands on it.
I have thought about fashion design, and as I went to an arts high school, majoring in visual arts, that is a possibility, although I think I may lack the talent and dedication to design full-time.
What I plan to go into when I finish school is journalism. Ideally I would like to write a novel, but 1) I have a hard time ever finishing a story, and 2) I can't expect to make a living off of that right away. I chose journalism as it combines my passions for writing and social issues. Causes close to my heart are gay rights, women's rights, animal rights (another reason to hate the fashion industry), and environmentalism.
I also really enjoy photography. My favourite photos are those of people, such as fashion portraits, but they don't have to be professional pictures of tall, skinny models for me to appreciate them, just well-done and creative. I especially like black-and-white photography. I am awaiting a new DSLR. I currently have one of my father's old film cameras, my mum's Nikon Coolpix something-or-other, and a muticoloured Holga (heart). I'm taking a photography course at the moment, so I hope to maybe have some pictures of me to put up here taken by my classmates, and maybe even some by myself.
