自我介绍

I had first darkroom over 30 years ago. I've been shooting on and off ever since. I'm currently working on expanding my portfolio, and I am available to shoot TFP/TFCD with select models in the Miami Beach area.

Samples of my work can be found at http://www.michaelfryd.com

If you are interested in shooting TFP/TFCD with me, here's what I expect:

I expect both of us to get images for our respective portfolios. If we haven't created images to expand our portfolios, we have failed.

I expect you to participate in the process. Tell me your ideas. Tell me what you need for your portfolio, I'll tell you what my current needs are. If I can help you, and you can help me, then we can work together.

I expect everybody to show up on time, and you should expect to get your images in a timely manner.

Photography is art.

You need creative vision and the tools and skills to capture the vision.

30 years ago I toiled in a small darkroom, the stench of Dektol and Fixer permeating my clothes and filling my lungs. Light projecting onto blank sheets. Hands carefully dodging and burning to fine tune. Images coming into existence in a pool of developer. Washing the prints as the chemicals for creating the image, must be removed or they will destroy it. Rolling the wet prints onto hot shinny plates of metal for the glossy finish.

The tools have changed. I don't have to tell you about Photoshop, archival inkjet printers, or computers more powerful than those used to get man to the moon.

Some things are the same. Light, reflectance, aperture, shutter speed. lenses: the laws of physics are fixed.

I've been doing this a long time, and I intend to be doing it a lot longer.

Come be a part of my vision.
