It feels strange to write about myself in the third person, so instead, allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Chelsey Somohano, and I am photographer in Nashville, Tennessee. I got my start as a photographer in Florida, first in Wesley Chapel and then on to Gainesville, where I attended Santa Fe College.
I currently attend the International Academy of Design and Technology and am working on my Associates of Applied Science in Photography.
No matter my education, my passion for the things I love to do in life fuels my inspiration for my photos. Horses, music, and photography. I have found a way to incorporate all three of these things into my everyday life by photographing both.
It all started when I purchased my first digital camera. I was hooked, and I have been ever since.
My first few years as an aspiring photographer were a blur. I only tried to capture a horse and rider over a jump, the occasional cliché portrait, a dark band shot in a crowded venue...I didn't know the things I know now, and I did not have the knowledge of photography that I have now.
Soon enough, I started to explore the more artistic side of photography. The angles of things in everyday life are so intriguing to me that I cannot help but aspire to achieve some degree of representation of them through photography.
I do not consider myself to be a professional or an expert at this point. After all, it's the subject that does the showing off. I am however proud to say that I work hard at what I do. There's a certain kind of pride I feel when I've managed to take that one perfect photograph.
In the end I feel lucky to have the proper tools - in my hands, my head, and my heart that enable me to capture the images that I do.
Feel free to contact me anytime, whether you have a question, comment, or want to set up a photo shoot :)
