My primary motivation is to create beautiful FILM monochrome images of naked models in natural landscapes on Medium Format and now LARGE format too. However in parallel I shoot digitally, ensuring that models have access to the images quickly. I like to shoot in bright sunshine, as this gives the image a positive utopian energy; I want my images to look idyllic and my models to have a liberating blissful experience.
Gracefully posed on erosion sculptured rock; I want to resonate and reinforce the beauty of the surroundings with that of the model. I seek to reverse the fall of man (i.e. before Eve was thrown out of the Garden of Eden), but at the same time allowing the natural sensuality of the model to reveal itself.
Most of my landscape nudes are shot in Cumbria, County Durham and Northumberland in northernmost England (The Lake District being my favourite place!). I also have several places scouted in Devon and Cornwall. I shoot abroad often (mainly Almeria and the Canaries) and I am always looking for great models to take with me.
