I started in photography years ago in the days of changing bags, chemicals, darkrooms and manual dodging. Photography has evolved and thankfully in a positive direction. While a student at Parsons School of Design, I became disenchanted with the profession as there was such a high focus on technical darkroom skills which I felt took away from what I was there to do, which was shoot beautiful images. With the modern technology we have today, the emphasis is off the darkroom and I am able to concentrate my time and efforts into image capturing, which has made me fall in love with photography all over again. I "see" in black and white; largely due to that being the medium that I learned on and was able to process on my own. I want to expand into color photography, but at this point, to quote Paul Simon, "everything looks better in black and white".
