About Me

Juan Session
Biography

Juan Session is a man of many talents. He dances, he sings, he acts. He realized at an early age that he was destined to work in the entertainment industry. "Every aspect of entertainment has always fascinated me," Juan proclaims. "From performing on stage to costume design, it all comes together like magic!" His natural ability to captivate an audience was immediately noticed at the tender age of eight when he was chosen for his first solo in the church choir. This experience would eventually lead him to the theatre where he flourished in the musical department.

Juan credits the theatre as his first love in acting. Having roles in Rent, A Raisin in the Sun, Fresh Horses, and a multitude of other stage productions has prepared him to take his career to new heights. He has graced the stage as the Tin Man in The Wiz, Arvide Abernathy in Guys and Dolls, and CeCe in Dreamgirls. Although each of these roles require an immense vocal range and stretches ones acting ability, Juan's most pivotal and challenging role would prove to be the catalyst that morphed a hobby into a career. The role of Street Preacher in Mark Swinton's original musical What's Goin' On was the driving force of the play about a young man that realizes his destiny too late; after tragedy takes over his life. Mr. Session approached the daunting task of portraying a grotesque, seemingly psychotic vagrant with vigor and determination. This determination would pay off, producing standing ovations at every sold-out performance. Currently he is on tour with the edgy and controversial new musical "You Don't Know Me The Musical".

Recently, Juan Session has completed a national campaign with KSwiss that appeared in several magazines including Vibe, XXL, and Latina and on television networks such as MTV and BET. He continues to nourish his acting talents in theatrical productions and minor television roles on series such as Jag, South Of Nowhere, and most recently Juvies on MTV. He also studied modern, jazz, and hip-hop dance along with acting under the direction of accomplished actress, producer, director, and choreographer Debbie Allen.

Mr. Session does not limit himself. He has also added the title of songwriter to his resume having written five songs for the feature film Gas starring Tyson Beckford (Ralph Lauren) and Flexx Alexander (One on One). Never overlooking his passion for singing, Juan has also sung background vocals for Main Street Music artist KB and hopes to form his own group, singing a fusion of Hip-Hop, R&B, and Rock, a sound that is sure to turn heads and set trends.
