About Me

Seven Grant is a proud trans woman, internationally published model, and rising actress whose transformative journey—from studious schoolgirl to boundary-breaking cover star—exemplifies resilience, reinvention, and fierce self-expression.

Formerly known as Sophia Abella, she began her creative career under that name before adopting Seven Grant prior to her debut film with director Bruno Pischiutta. The name change was not just a rebranding—but a reclamation. “Sophia” symbolized wisdom, while “Abella” was her given middle name. Later, in consultation with her agent, she chose the surname “Grant” in honor of her grandmother, and added “Seven” to represent completion—a femme fatale persona that is mysterious, magnetic, and unapologetically sexy.

Growing up in the Philippines, Seven was an honors student and Dean’s Lister who found early comfort in books, Barbie dolls, and the arts—excelling in drawing, sculpture, painting, and photography. Often dressed in oversized, masculine clothes, she quietly nurtured her creative soul until, like a caterpillar in chrysalis, she began her metamorphosis.

Her modeling career began in 2011 and gained international attention when she became the first Asian trans woman to grace the cover of Transliving UK (Issue 39, 2012). The momentum continued with features in U.S. and Indian publications, including a 2013 cover for Glamcob India. In 2016, Seven made headlines with a controversial cover for Model Up Magazine, a mainstream publication previously known for showcasing only blonde, cisgender women. The feature was provocatively labeled “propaganda” by critics—solidifying her role not just as a model, but as a cultural disruptor.

Following this media firestorm, Seven took a six-year hiatus from major publications, focusing on personal growth, spiritual clarity, and navigating the complexities of international gender laws. Her voice, however, remained defiant—especially amid the rising global backlash against trans identities, including U.S. gender marker debates and UK rulings declaring trans women as men.

In June 2025, Seven returned powerfully to the spotlight with the Pride Edition cover of Moll Magazine South Africa, reaffirming her commitment to representation, visibility, and truth. Her social commentary continues to be featured across UK, U.S., and Indian media, where she unflinchingly tackles issues of gender, identity, and authenticity.

Seven cites influences such as Angelina Jolie, Kim Kardashian, Charlize Theron, Maggie Q, Gal Gadot, Priyanka Chopra, Sherlyn Chopra, and Elisabeth Moss as early inspirations during her 2010 transition. Today, she brings the same fierce dedication to her evolving career as an actress—pursuing roles that demand emotional truth and disrupt mainstream expectations. “I know I have the potential to do what great talents did in their time,” she says. “Sometimes, we have to screw up the courage to speak our deepest fears—or finally reveal our buried brilliance.”
