I'm a painter first and foremost. I do work in other media, including photography. But this profile focusses on my photographic work that deals with the human figure (since that is the work I need models for).

My goal is not to make "pretty" pictures, at least by the usual standards. I like to make images that make the viewer a little uncomfortable, flirting with the edge of what is "ok" in their minds. I want to make them feel voyeuristic, like they shouldn't be looking at my work, but also have an instinctive desire to do so anyway. At the same time, I do want my work to have aesthetic value - while the pictures might not be "pretty", I still want the formal aspect of it to be pleasing to the eye.

The latest work I've done is on this page - I've attempted to achieve my goals through unsual positions, less than "pretty" locations, filtered, high contrast lighting, and using grainy film and paper (I don't usually shoot digital).

I'm looking for models interested in helping me achieve my goals. I like it to be fun, but I take it very seriously, so if you want to shoot, please be professional. If you're interested in doing this kind of work, I'd like to hear from you.
