Cody Kennedy

In the thriving, exciting entertainment world “Young Hollywood” is known as being a select group of young, emerging actors on the rise. They attend the most exclusive parties, constantly have intense media coverage, and are offered the newest, hottest projects in the business. Included in this elite group is actress, model, and entrepreneur Cody Kennedy. At the age of 18, Cody is already known for being passionate and gracious, undeniably dynamic and stunningly beautiful, and a rare talent in an oversaturated community of actors. Having already made her mark in the modeling industry, co-starred on a critically acclaimed television series, and with plans to launch her own clothing line “Cody Kennedy” in 2010, Cody is without a doubt one of the brightest stars to watch in the industry.

Born on December 9, 1991 in Hollywood, Cody moved to Santa Monica eight years later, where she has lived ever since. As one of four girls in her family of six, Cody found her identity through her love of acting and performing for others. She shares, “I realized I wanted to be in the entertainment industry when I was about four years old. I would watch sitcoms and movies and think to myself, I could do that, I want to do that, I need to do that.” Cody’s ambition was clearly unstoppable to everyone around her from very early on. After participating in numerous school plays, Cody’s thirst for acting only grew as she realized her fervor for performing, and portraying characters. At thirteen years old, she was discovered by a manager that placed her in acting classes with some of the top acting coaches in the business. Cody spent time studying musical theatre, however acting in television and film surfaced as her true passions.

Cody’s very first jobs included appearing in Jon McLaughlin’s 2006 “Beautiful Disaster” music video and making cameos in videos for top artists including Miley Cyrus, Mitchel Musso, Esmee Denters and Tarsha. From music videos, she transitioned smoothly into modeling, and in 2009 modeled in LA Fashion Week for designers Chelsea Rebelle and Sarah Bannon, which led to a feature in Nylon Magazine Online. She was the Box Eight LA Fashion Week Host, and hosted additional Young Hollywood shows at the Los Angeles Theatre. In addition, Cody has done modeling campaigns for StampD’LA, Raw Girls, Purlieu/Native American Vintage, Hippo Gorilla Giraffe Vintage Clothes, Jayro White, Sarah Jessica Parker’s clothing line Bitten, Puma, and Eastpack. Cody has been seen in numerous publications nationally and internationally including being chosen as NYLON magazine’s October “It Girl” alongside Zooey Deschanel, Brillia Girl Magazine (Japan), Prim Magazine, COCO Magazine (Cover), ELLE Girl Magazine (Japan), Salon City Magazine (US), Playboy Magazine, Cliché Magazine (Cover), ELLE Magazine (France) Teen Vogue, Vogue (France and Germany) and more.

On the television and film front, Cody has been featured on the Disney Channel, booked several national commercials for top companies including McDonald’s, Sears, and Red Bull, played the role of “Evan” in GOD’S PLAN FOR STAN (a short film directed by Taylor Ghrist,) and “Brittney” in the feature film TRU LOVED. She also was seen in the independent film TO HEAVEN IN BACK, where she played “Beth Riley,” a character who suffers with problems of abortion and suicide. However she is best known in television for her role on A&E’s “Gene Simmons Family Jewels.” Cody recently finished filming the short film HUSH directed by Conrad T. Curtis, and in 2010 is set to model for Pour La Frime and will be the face of JoyRich’s February 2010 campaign. She recently booked the lead role of “Kari Temple” in the independent film THE YOUNGSTER, to be directed by Alexander Wenger, with Najarra Townsend attached. The Disney Channel has scooped Cody up to portray russian vixen, Sasha Matryoshka, on the popular children's sitcom "Suite Life on Deck" for its third season.

Cody hits the big screen as the lead in the independent feature film "The Bridge Between". She will be on location in Idaho filming in Boise, Moscow, and Lewiston the summer of 2010.

With a broad range of talent as an actress, noteworthy accomplishments as a model, and plans to expand the “Cody Kennedy” brand in 2010 with her clothing line, Cody is undoubtedly a star on the rise.
